![]() Hellish."' or just plain dreadful novel by a television script writer who has not so much bad-dreamed this up as borrowed from everything in the public domain-J. I can't imagine why anyone thought this was worth publishing. It's amazing to me that it ever got published, back in the '70s, when it was still presumably somewhat hard to get published. ![]() I would give it no stars, but then it just looks as if I haven't rated it, so 1 star it gets. (Bitches be bitches, yo.) Painfully pointless and laboriously written. Not only is this book rife with animal cruelty, it's also woefully misogynistic, especially in its equating of women's sexuality with evil. In this book, a dog is painfully possessed (maybe?) by a mean woman (maybe?) and then slaughtered, beheaded, minced, and fed to party guests. ![]() The violence against animals, used as some kind of lazy plot device, is especially disturbing. I found this to be a turgid and deeply unpleasant mess. ![]()
